How do you protect against my account getting hacked?
We have robust systems in place to protect against account cracking, selling, trading, and spoofing. A key part of this is our selfie re-authentication feature.
Selfie re-authentication. Selfie re-auth triggers automatically. Either in response to suspicious activity on your account, such as an unexpected change in IP address or hardware ID, or as a random spot check. When triggered, you'll be prompted to take a quick selfie the next time you attempt to connect to a PlaySafe Protected environment. This is then matched against the hashed biometric token created when you first verified your account.
Because no selfies or documents are stored by either PlaySafe ID or our verification partner Entrust, this process is entirely privacy-preserving. The check simply confirms that the same person who created the account is still the one using it. If it's you, you're through; If it isn't, the account stays locked.
This is the same biometric technology used by major banks globally, and is robust enough that changes in appearance such as a new haircut or beard will not affect it.
We are also exploring the development of a companion app to introduce two-factor authentication as an additional layer of account security, which will be made available in due course.
Together with other robust security measures, this ensures that your PlaySafe ID remains protected and that only you can use it.
